Book Review

When I first got the email from Devyn at C&T Publishing asking if I wanted to review the book The Wedding Dress Quilt my initial thought was no … I couldn’t see myself making a quilt from a wedding dress and then I read the email more carefully.

It’s a novel … a little mystery, a little quilting, and a little romance! I like mysteries and quilting so I said yes.

It was a quick, entertaining read and if you’d like to win a digital copy of the book, leave a comment below and I will draw a winner randomly on Thursday.

  1. Thanks for a chance to win. When I saw the header of your email, I thought you would be writing about a book you wrote.

  2. I’d love to win the book! I’m a quilter and a prolific reader. I love books that include quilting stories!

  3. The perfect combination – a mystery, quilting and I’m sure there’s a story behind the wedding dress being used. Thank you for the giveaway. Fingers crossed…

  4. I’d love to win a copy of the book – mystery, romance, quilting – and it has a picture of my favorite sewing machine on the cover – what’s not to like??!!

  5. Long time lurker, first time poster… thank you for sharing your life with us. It keeps me grounded to hear other people just living, no frills or embellishment. Reading and quilting are both favorite hobbies of mine. <3

  6. This seems to be just the kind of book I need right now with a bit of romance mingled with my favorite hobby of quilting thrown in! Please add my name to the hat! duchick at gmail dot com

  7. I love quilt mysteries like this. Would appreciate some time to read it and rest from cutting fabrics for quilts.

  8. Please put my name in the hat. I enjoy quilting and reading books. The double wedding ring pattern is one I have not tried yet.

  9. I would read this, it’s right up my alley. I’ve read all of the Elm Creek Quilts series by Jennifer Chiaverini.

  10. Thank you for your blog — I get so many ideas for quilts as I donate to Firehouse Quilts in Colorado. Reading mysteries is my second best activity to do after quilting.

  11. I’m interested in the book also. I usually listen to audiobooks while sewing. Thankful that I can enjoy both together.
Sending prayers again for your beautiful, complete healing.

  12. This book looks interesting. When I was home in Canada… my Twin gave me my Wedding dress that she had in case someone needed it. I have it with me here in Santa Teresa, N.M.. My dress is 45 years young! So this may be a good read. I bought this dress at a Fashion Show here in El Paso. They adjusted it to make sure it fit, My Girlfriend and her Mum came with me to this Fashion Show, Good memories and fun.

  13. I love anything to do with quilting but it’s always nice to get a nice and quilt book to read between projects.

  14. I will have to pickup this book. I missed the deadline. May give me some ideas. I just got my mother’s wedding dress, which I also wore. It is 70 years old.

    Hope you are feeling okay
