Hat #34

Started last night watching the Lightning pull out a win in overtime!!

And finished tonight!

Pattern is William’s Chemo Hat found free on the Knots of Love site at this link.

I have made this hat in different yarns but have to say that size wise it’s more of a woman’s hat (fits me) than a guy hat … unless the guy has a small, woman sized head… so you’ll see me using pinks and purples and other girly colors for it.

I did lose at yarn chicken on this one but luckily there was a small leftover ball of the same yarn in my bin! It’s a risk I take when I knit a 2nd hat from these skeins of yarn. Most times I’m able to judge it pretty well but every now and then I have to hope I have some of the same yarn or something similar enough to use.

  1. Mary, when I finish a hat, I weigh it on a small food scale in grams and make a note of the type of yarn and size. Then if I want to knit again from leftover yarn, I weigh it (in grams) and I know whether I have enough before I start.

  2. It’s really pretty with the woven affect. I use cotton yard for wash cloths and sometimes end up short and add a color that’s in my bin.

  3. Love the quilt you are covered with. Hope you are feeling better and your recovery is progressing.
