Cast on

I always have to have a crochet or knitting project going during football and hockey season … so tonight I cast on one of my favorite scarf patterns.

Years ago when we lived in Minneapolis I bought a TON of this fingering weight yarn and I’ll probably spend the rest of my life trying to use it all up (along with the other yarn and fabric stash)

I’ve knit this Be Simple Variations pattern 12 other times … and I always like how it turns outs … here are just 3 of my favorites!

And by the way … the Bolts won again tonight!

  1. Your scarves are so pretty and I think this pattern is one of the best. When I was a child we wore scarves over our head in the cold weather. Sure wish I’d had one of these.

  2. Ohhh, this is a german yarn, run by a little family. I checked the webside and see there are wool shops in the states that sell this! Wow! Love that you knitt and quilt. Always something in your hands. And knitting scarves or socks makes so much fun! Glad to hear your favorite sport teams won! Happy weekend Mary!

  3. Thank you for sharing the scarf pattern. I have just recently taken us knitting socks, so I don’t have a stash of fingering weight yarn, but should I encounter one, I think this is the scarf I’ll try making. Most scarves I see are far too lacy or bulky. This one looks just right, and I love the colors you’ve made it in!
