Finished

The Pink Shell blanket is done. This is a free pattern found on Ravelry at this link.

I was going to use just one skein of the Big Scoop yarn but I decided I wanted it a little bigger so I used a little of another skein. Luckily, I had 4 extra skeins of this yarn. Mo is right … my yarn stash is out of control! she keeps saying “Gram, you have too much yarn … use what you have!”

I’m not supposed to set goals this year … I’m trying to take the pressure off (I’m the one who pressures myself) and just work on what I want, when I want … only my brain has a hard time with that …

So this week it’s been whispering to me ….

  • Pack some little quilt projects for VA
  • Assemble the Rail Fence top
  • Load and quilt a top
  • Finish the Shell stitch blanket
  • Bind the Shark Town Square quilt

And the only thing on the list to be done is the binding … and of course packing for the trip on Wednesday. I wonder what I might do with the extra time?? Start another crochet blanket – with 2 hockey games and the football game Sunday that’s a given…. Maybe even get the Raindrops quilt bound.

  1. You are right you have to have goals. You seem to do best with achievable goals and I am guessing that you will accomplish what you have laid out. Enjoy the week and try to just enjoy life as it goes

  2. That picture of Mo made me laugh right out loud! Too cute! The pink variegated yarn is so pretty for that pattern!

  3. That blanket is very pretty in pink. The new yarns are so unbelievable to me because I used to make this blanket all the time. However I used about 3-4 different shades of pink and one of white to achieve what you made out of one roll. Mo is trying to tell you something, she sure is cute.

  4. You should have had Mo read the sign in front of the yarn and tell her having a lot of yarn is “Eternal Bliss”. She sure is a cutie and wise beyond her years sometimes.
The pink shell blanket is adorable. And the ‘Playful Raindrops’ quilting pattern matches the quilt. Those colors look like a soft, Spring rain.

  5. Wait, on not setting goals…I finally reached my goal of having no “must make” projects in the queue. I am feeling lost and rudderless! Not able to start on any of my “just for me” projects. It feels off 😉 Mo is darling, you have adorable grandchildren!
