We got home yesterday evening and I won’t lie I was exhausted!! I went right to bed but didn’t get a lot of sleep. I had to be up early this morning to report for jury duty.
I’d had to move a bunch of appointments to clear this week and I panicked a bit when they said that the term to be served for this “grand jury” was 6 months. There was no way I could manage that with all my medical appointments.
I was lucky, the judge excused me and now I have some time this week to sort and deal with the bin full of Mom’s and my progress from this last week …
And to deal with the packages that came in while we were gone for our HeartStrings Little Quilt Project.
Thanks to everyone who has participated! There will be lots of little quilts and critters to comfort children in need. I will confirm each received package with an email as I go through them this week.

So much love in lots of little packages. Thank you for doing all of this!
The only advantage of my being almost deaf is that I haven’t had to serve on jury duty. My H has served several times. Now that I’m retired, I wouldn’t mind. But, not being able to hear just doesn’t work.
I want to see what folks have sent you in those packages. Such a worth cause.
Best of luck working through those packages and I’m so glad to hear that the judge excused you from jury duty. That’s great news!
Mary I am glad you will be able to keep your appointments. I am sure you are glad to be home. You are a very busy person. All the best. Carolyn
I was just called for jury duty too, but my doctor filled out a form to excuse me because of my pain issues and lack of access to pain meds if I were to attend. Can’t leave in the middle of a trial to take them! I was excused, so all was well. Glad you were too, wouldn’t want to cut down your quilting/knitting/crocheting production!!!
That’s a lot of packages! Last time I was called to jury duty I explained my contract days with multiple school districts. That didn’t get me out of my duty. But when I mentioned my brother-in-law was our county sheriff – that got an immediate excuse.
