Finished

It was a busy day … but I did get a binding sewn down tonight and the Scrappy 16 Patch quilt is done! It has a cozy fleece batting so that’s why it looks a little fluffy!

My day started with a trip to Marietta to see the tax guy … and then I met this guy for lunch. He forgot it was Friday until he saw the sign on the table about Lent Friendly meals. Poor boy!

Then I stopped in at Joann’s and bought some more fabric … it’s just 20% off so not a great deal but there are still some background fabrics that I wanted to get before they’re gone.

After that I was ready to head home when I realized I was near the sewing machine store … I’d already told Keith I wanted another Jane for my birthday.

She’s in Virginia these days and I miss her here in GA … so I bought a Babylock Accomplish 2 which is the updated Jane. A simple, uncomplicated straight stitch machine. And no, my birthday isn’t for a few months but you got to get it while it’s there!

  1. Your quilt is very pretty as always. Your son does look unhappy! I wonder why Babylock named that machine a weird name, why not Janette or something else.

  2. I so know what you mean about the sewing machine baby. I gave my daughter my old Pfaff one when I upgraded and then took it back after a year passed when she never used once. I told her I’d keep it running for her,and she could have it back anytime. She hasn’t asked about it. My granddaughter, her daughter, uses it when she sews with me. Love that old machine. Have a great first spring weekend.

  4. I have the Brother version of this machine and LOVE it. It is my second one. I use it for all my piecing and even quilting of up to queen size quilts. The king size quilts I use a sit down long arm for. Love your birthday gift.

  5. You are past the stage in life where you wait to buy on a special day. You appreciate iate what you have whenever you get it and use it to make your life better. Pretty sure it just works better that way.
