Hat #27 and #28

Finished both of these yesterday and started two more.

The turquoise hat is Ross, pattern is found free on Ravelry at this link.

The red hat is Gloria’s Knit Beanie, found free on the Knots of Love site at this link

I put them in the hat bin … I think it’s time to make another donation, it’s getting pretty full.

I also put the leftover yarn in the yarn bin … I’ve not been as good this year about making the “leftover” hats. I’m lucky that I can get 2 hats from most of the skeins I use … one of the yarns I can get 3 hats from 2 skeins so I make sure to always order 2. Anyway, I need to get to work on this using up these leftovers!

  1. These are nice hats. The red has a different type of stitches that appeal to me, the turquoise would be great for all sexes. Do you ever find a pattern that you can make a scrap hat out of leftovers?

  2. Keep the red one for you maybe???? It’s so pretty! They’re all such lovely hats. My husband had non-Hodgkins lymphoma, too (diffuse large b cell). The cancer hospital treatment area had a large basket of hats for patients to take. He chose a rusty-brown one speckled with gold and darker brown. It also had a big pompom on top. 🙂 Oh my goodness—-he LOVED that hat! He wore it for years after his full recovery. So, as someone who witnessed the pleasure that those hats can bring, I thank you for your effort, skill, talent, selflessness, and time in knitting the caps. I think that we sometimes just think about the benefit of donations like caps and quilts as they pertain to the cancer patient. But I am here to say that the caregiver also benefits. My tired heart was uplifted, and my eyes often filled with tears for the small kindnesses (such as donated hats) that benefited my husband, and therefore, touched my heart, too. Thank you for what you do for others as you contend with your own health challenges. You are wonderful.

  3. Great hats. You are certainly on a roll and make the most of all your time and energy. Bless you.
