I spent a couple hours downstairs today … got the ends woven in this crochet blanket. I like the pattern and will use it again. You can find the free Crochet Sherbet pattern at this link.

I do wish the color transitions on the yarn were more blended but that’s one of the challenges using these self striping yarns. Some people cut the yarn at the blanket ends but that can waste yarn and also cause more ends to be woven in.
I also got all the batting and backings for the little quilt tops organized and they’re all pack up for the next trip to VA. I like being able to just grab one, pin it, and get it quilted!

In addition to continuing to work on the group quilts and my UFOs my focus will now shift to Veteran quilts for donation in Maine in Bev’s memory.
Now that the table in the sewing room is cleared off I can get started.
Stephanie announced that our challenge for next month is shapes and I realized that I’d never met this month’s challenge – Jelly Rolls. I was pretty sure I had a RWB one somewhere and went searching for it last night. I also found a matching fat quarter bundle so all I need to do now is decide what EASY pattern I want to do and get started before the end of the month … and a start will be all that gets done! We have a lot of family time scheduled and I have some appointments too so my time downstairs will be limited.

For April’s challenge – shapes – I was thinking of a RWB version of my easy flock of geese quilt … using the 8 inch blocks like this one to make it a little quicker! But we’ll see … there’s a lot on my plate right now and I’m still sluggish.
