You all know I love my hat knitting and since I’ve been donating them at my oncologist’s office, I’ve been getting lots of great feedback. I donated another batch of 12 today when I went in for my appointment and they were thrilled to accept them and even told me they had a fund if I got low on yarn. I laughed and told them about Mo – “Gram, you don’t need more yarn!”
These are some of the recent ones on my Ravelry page … including some of the 12 I donated today … there have been 36 in total so far this year.

I will have little quilts and critters and crochet blankets to add to that donation list when I get back from VA in mid-May AND there will be some quilt donations in June. I’m still working slower than normal although I’m trying to accept the “new” normal and I’m even treating myself to a library day!
My appointments are “in town” and take 30 minutes to an hour to get to depending on where they are and since I’m already out and about, I’ve starting to take some time for myself.

Great job! Patient or caregiver, we all need to take care of ourselves!
WOW! What a super great job you are doing with all the hats. You are honestly so amazing. I can knit but never learnt to use four needles. Big mistake. As I can no longer find time to even sew, it breaks my heart as I have so many projects sitting waiting on me and my sewing machine. But, first comes the hubby now, as without him I wouldn’t be where I am now. In a happy place, so to speak.
After all you “the energizer bunny” do for others you can deserve some down time for yourself.
Well done on taking time for yourself, you deserve it.
Take good care of yourself but continue to share your wondrous gifts.
Oh my gosh, Mary, if I could keep up with your new normal, I would be a happy camper!! You put me to shame with all that you accomplish!
Do you not just love a library?? I read a lot, and every time I walk out of the library, I say a little prayer of thanksgiving for having such a blessing in my life!!
You have been a great inspiration to many of us. I love seeing your hats and quilts and know they are going to those that will cherish them and appreciate them. Taking time for yourself is important and I am glad to see you carve out some time for your needs too. God bless you.
Well done, Mary! You continue to serve others while needing care yourself- you are an inspiration!
