Kari asked how I organized my fabric … at one point it was organized but we’ve been here in Big Canoe for 6 years now … that’s the longest we’ve lived in a place without moving … moving gives me the opportunity to “organize” things and I keep telling Keith it’s time to move again!
Here’s what it looks like right now! I am lucky that I have a space right outside the sewing room for all this. It’s piled high with fabric, yarn, and critters 🙂

As you can see, lots of bins, bags, cubbies, and shelving units and this doesn’t count all the stuff in the longarm room. More yarn and backing fabrics.
I really do need to attack that pile of leftover batting – hopefully I’ll make a small dent when I go to pair some up with the little quilt tops for my next trip to VA.
Organization doesn’t look cute and it doesn’t end up on your project count. It does however keep from going through all the stuff in the whole room to find the fabric or yarn you are looking for. Even I have to resort to organization sometimes.
Mary, thank you for showing your fabric bins. I do believe though that I have double what you have. When I go through it to sell it or find a home for it, the beauty of the fabric stops me. I am hopeful though that I will be able to let go when we move next year. Yours isn’t bad at all.
I didn’t realise you had another room for your stash – guess you’ll never be short of the right fabric to fit your needs 🙂
Hi Mary,
I feel much better after seeing your supplies! 😂Enjoy your weekend!
