Quilted

Another one of the tops pieced by Valerie is quilted. I did add the leaf border to make it a little larger. This ends my “Slow” quilting marathon – 6 weeks, 6 quilted. Progress was made.

Pantograph is Leafy Love.

This one is trimmed and ready for binding but I think that will have to wait for when I get back from VA. Just two more days before I leave and I’ve got things that need to be done.

Of course, I “rested” from loading, quilting, and trimming the quilt today by working on more Warm Up American blanket sections. I’m using up leftover yarn which is great but I also have yarn that I might not be using for hats that might end up being used for these too.

I need to pack some “yarn” projects for VA … the Tour de France is on so I’ll have plenty of crochet time. I’m leaning toward blankets … easier to pack up 2 or 3 yarn bundles.

  1. Thank you for letting us know about donating crocheted squares! I have plenty of yarn bits and pieces that I can use to crochet squares. I kind of got hooked on the Mandala brand of yarn that you mentioned a long, long time ago. I love it! It’s pretty, fun to work with, and fairly easy to find. I went to the Warm Up America website but didn’t see the size/sizes of squares/rectangles that they want. How big are your squares/rectangles? Thanks! And I probably won’t use the Mandala yarn for these kinds of Warm Up squares because the Mandela yarn is mostly striped, and I suspect that they may want solid colors to be used. But thanks again for your good information. 🙂

  2. Hi again! I bothered you too soon. I found the information. The Warm Up American requested rectangles are 7×9. Thanks for your inspiration!

  3. A nice quilt. A slow quilting period of six quilted in six weeks is not slow. I also see a hat ahead and have ssn others. Give yourself a break.
