One of my UFO’s from 2014 … I’d promised Mom another quilt with a Minkee type backing (it gets cold in the Virginia mountains!) and let her choose one of my tops. Pantograph is Halcyon. There are brief instructions for this Framed 9 Patch inspired by a vintage quilt on my website.

While I was working on getting this one quilted, Mom worked on a project for me! All the bright squares she cut will be pieced into alternate blocks for the butterfly blocks that Mom appliquéd for me last year.

I love the look of all those bright scraps together … I think I need to put them in a bin and come up with another quilt to use them in!
For those of you that liked the Dog quilt I posted yesterday, I saw an ad for that GO die from Accuquilt, it’s on sale and there’s a link to the pattern Mom used too.
You are so blessed to have your mom around sewing with you. I love Minky on the back of quilts.
Your Mom’s smile is contagious! The bright fabrics look great with the butterflies.
Love what you guys are doing together. So happy that you two are together.
Mom looks SEW happy with her new quilt. I can TOTALLY see why!! Storing your pattern idea for the Tiny Nines I’ve been making the last few years…
I keep looking at the blue quilt for your mom, I really like the simplicity of it.
