I drove back home today. Not as long and difficult as my drive on Monday but still 8+ hours. I think my tests results will be OK and I should be good for another year. As I walked around downtown Tampa, I thought about our 6 years there and wondered if I’d end up regretting the move …. Nope! It’s a great city but Big Canoe offers us so much more. The top two things – a change of seasons and proximity to family – the kids and to my family and Keith’s.

  1. I am glad you are safely home. Being close to your kids and and grandchildren is so important. It is the little events that they will remember when we are gone. I see it in my children how they remember their grandparents and hope I am making the same memories in my 4 granddaughters. Now for me to get busy on the 4 bitty baby quilts that they requested.

  2. Glad you’re home now Mary and you have a safe trip. I hope you enjoy your new residence very much.

  3. I’m glad you are back at Big Canoe. It is important to find a place where you feel at home like you do. It’s wonderful that you can be closer to your family, be surrounded with beautiful scenery, and have plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.

  4. Being closer to family is a huge benefit – that’s also why I moved three years ago. I don’t regret my decision either. I’m glad you had a safe trip back home.

  5. Glad you are home safe and sound again. Being close to family seems to get more important as we get older. We are about 90 minutes from all of our grandkids – just close enough to go to some of their activities, and connect often. And just far enough that we aren’t an every day babysitter. 🙂 At some point we may move closer, or maybe not. Plus Laura and her family seems to move every couple of years. Who knows what the future brings.
