Keith went with me today on my favorite trail here at Big Canoe. The footing is a bit challenging with my balance issues but I’m tired of letting it dictate what I do. I did use my walking stick which helps. It just felt wonderful. Hiking in the woods is definitely my happy place.

I also manage to finish up the stitching on a Christmas gift. Tomorrow I’ll try to get another binding started but we have plans for a good part of the day so we’ll see.
Hiking in such a pretty place would be a pleasure. And close to home. Keep up the good work.
Good for you, Mary! Glad to hear that you aren’t letting the balance issues ruin your fun.
Glad you got out into the beauty of nature! The walking stick is good (I have two) and often only use one but there were such a big help in Ireland. You look so very happy there.
Good for you! So nice to see you were able to get out and enjoy a hike. Hope there are many more!!
YEA! Do what we can rather than grouse about what we can’t. Happy Mary in that pic 🙂
Good for you! I am having some walking issues now and I told my doctor that I am not ready to give up hiking yet.
Watch your footing in the challenging places. There are times when hiking I have to stop to see the beauty because I spend a lot of time watching my feet. A tiny hole or big stick are disastrous for me. I don’t know how bad your issues are but with effort I can do lots of thongs just differently. You can do the fun things!
You said you have balance issues. I don’t know if it’s vertigo or not. But I had vertigo and went to physical therapy and it was a simple fix. You might ask your Dr about it.
Last year my hubby admired the walking sticks my sis’s husband has, so I got him a pair for Christmas. He loves them. A pair does even better than just one for him. And takes up less space than a walker. We are both getting wobbly as we age.
