We’ve been chatting on my HeartStrings group about end of the year projects and organizing our work spaces and UFOs … my UFOs are easy – they’re hanging in the closet waiting for quilting … my fabric nook is a different story. It desperately needs some attention but I’m focusing on finishing up projects and I guess I’ll face the mess in January.

This side of the room doesn’t look any better.

I did finish the Strips and Strings Log Cabin blocks and they will get assembled before the end of the year … probably on New Year’s Eve. And Finn went for grooming this morning – got to look handsome for the holidays!

I also got my ornaments assembled. The kids get one most years and I think it will be a fun record of their childhood when they’re grown. Rae and Mo thought that Gus needed an ornament too.

Ooh, you have room for a wall full of cubes……. They work so well. Crisp white cubes. Mounted on wall for safety.
Oh Mary, I’m glad to see you have a large stash, we are kindred!!
Love you stash room. Always wondered how you stored you fabric.
Love it! Your sewing room looks like mine. Finishing projects was paramount but in January sewing room c!ran up moves up in priority.
Hi, Maureen. Love seeing a “real” post. My sewing room is in the same state and like you it will be a January project. I can barely walk into room the floor is so cluttered. Love the photo ornaments. Such a great idea.
Thanks for sharing your “dirty little secret”, Mary. Now I don’t feel quite SEW bad about all of my baskets, bins, and boxes! Just Get It Done Quilts will be offering her 2024 Declutter Challenge in January. I’ve found it quite helpful to participate in her event. It’s broken down into categories of supplies and we work through our spaced one day at a time for 21 days.
Finn is just adorable! Love the ornament tradition and I’m going to pack that in my brain somewhere in case I ever am lucky enough to have grandchildren. Your fabric storage is NOT messy- seriously- I’m sure you can find whatever you are looking for. You’re quite lucky to have a room/nook for your supplies. The minute I clean up my things, that’s when I can’ find anything!
