Killing time

On the days I have both the wound care and radiation treatments, I have a lot of time to kill in between appointments. So … last Friday I checked out the local library in Canton.

It’s nice to have a place I can sit comfortably for 2-3 hours. They have some comfy chairs in a back room so I set myself up today and cast on another hat and they even let me bring a coffee in with me 🙂

  1. Ah, one of my favorite strategies when I have some dead time – look for a local library! Some of those reading chairs are seriously comfy too. Plus all those magazines I would never subscribe to but that are fun to flip through.

  2. I have fond memories of this library. Around 1990 my late parents lived nearby and my dad displayed some of the grandfather clocks he had made. It was also his favorite haunt for mystery books and when I visited my parents, we usually made at least one trip to this lovely library. Libraries are such great sanctuaries!

  3. You are always able to do something constructive with your time – looks like a great library.

  4. Libraries can be such comfortable spaces to read, relax, create – depends on what they allow. Looks like you’ve found a good one!

  5. I too love my library time Mary. sometimes I just browse through sections that are not my usual fare just to see what there might be. It’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy the quiet. Sending hugs

  6. Just hearing news of Hurricane Milton. All I can say is Thank God you are not living in Tampa at this time. Keep safe Mary and take care

  7. Happy you have a restful place spend some down time.

I’m curious about the knitting app on your ipad. Is it Knitter’s Companion?

  8. That is a great use of your time and lets you relax and be productive.
    Prayers are with you.

  9. Sounds like you’ve found a comfy place for those between times. Looks like a fantastic library… one of my favorite places to spend time. Take care.

  10. Looks like a nice library and a peaceful place to spend that waiting time. I like that our library provides space to work and comfy chairs for reading.

  11. When you have to kill time, no better place to be than in a library and able to knit with coffee.

  12. It must be doubly painful to have wound care and radiation on an already tender and sore area.
Looking at the pretty yarn in your second picture makes me realize that I need to do some ‘comfort crocheting’ to help me get past an extremely sad and hurtful day today. It’s soothing to use yarn & hook/needles to create stitches. I crocheted 2 hats 2 weeks ago trying to use up some of the old ’70’s and 80’s varigated/ombre yarn but I hate the way the color ‘splotches’. Hopefully someone will like them.
