We head out on Tuesday so I need to unpack from Maine and get laundry done so I can pack for trip #2 to Maine.

And downstairs, I have unpacking from VA and Maine … actually I tend to just pull out what I need to work on from the VA bins and then repack them when it’s time for the next trip.

All this packing and unpacking takes up a bit of time … as do my appointments … another one of those tomorrow.
I’ve been a bit slow since Thursday after having a swallowing study … that came back abnormal but I don’t think that’s there’s much they can do for it. I also finally got the results from the biopsy I had last month – the Oncologist wanted a second opinion from Mayo Clinic and it came back with cancer #3 for me. I have not discussed the results with the Oncologist yet so I’m not sure what the treatment will involve but it’s another setback.
For now, I plan to enjoy the trip to Maine and deal with it when I get back.
I am sorry to hear about the latest health setback, Mary, but I am glad you will be able to get away to one of your happy places for respite. I will be praying for you.
Oh Mary, I’m so sorry to hear you have cancer #3. I’ve dealt with two and always have a fear for another. Try to put your worries aside while in Maine. Relax and enjoy. I don’t normally comment but wanted you to know you are in my prayers.
I always enjoy the posts about your mom. There is something about her that reminds me of my grandma. She died at the age of 97 and was healthy until her final month of life. Grandma always wore a turtleneck and sweater, or a twin set. I just love little old ladies, I’m getting closer to being one all the time.
Mary, I am a follower , read it every day. You are so busy , you inspire. I am so sorry to read this one. Sending you a pile of good and healing thoughts . Enjoy Maine, I live in that other country above Maine.
Oh no Mary, not #3. You are in my prayers for a mutually agreeable treatment plan.
You continue to be a wonderful example of one foot in front of the other and giving back while meeting your own challenges. Bless you.
So sorry about the news. I hope this is all treatable without wiping out your energy. You seem to have a great attitude and great support system so I hope all goes well. Enjoy Maine!
Prayers for you, Mary and hoping your trip to Maine will be wonderful. You are such an inspiration.
I’m so sorry Mary about this news you’ve received. Luckily you will be with friends who will keep your spirits up. All of your readers will be praying for you. God bless you.
I reiterate the comments about your health. I do hope you have an easier time with this bout, and can get on with your life quickly. Have fun in Maine.
I am another that reads your blog each day. I enjoy your creativity, posts of your family, and your zest for giving to others with your many handmade donations. I hope you & hubby enjoy time together in Maine & I will be praying for this 3rd round of health issues. -Beth in AL
I am so very sorry to hear about your #3 Cancer diagnosis. You have already been through so much. And now one more challenge is ahead of you. You have been amazingly strong through all that life has put you through. I will continue to say prayers. You offer so much goodness to this world. I enjoy reading your blog to see what is your newest / next project. (Sandra)
I’ll pray for your cancer diagnosis. My sister who turns 90 in November just had Surgery for a Zanger’s pouch. It went well and she is home recuperating. I hope your swallowing issue will be resolved easily. Hugs to you.
I’m very sorry to hear about your health issues. You’re such a blessing to so many people. I will be praying for you and your family as you go through this next journey. Safe travels.
Well, phooey. I’m glad you’re not letting the latest results rain on your Maine trip, but yeesh! Enough already. Just tuck that away in your mental file drawer while you have a great and memorable time up north.
I’m so sorry to hear of #3. Keep up with the good attitude, and happy to see you continue to do what makes you happy.
You are an inspiration, both in your quilting and the way you face adversity. Blessings.
Oh Mary, I’m so sorry to hear you’re facing another cancer journey. You just seem to get a break lately. Keeping you in my prayers.
I am so sorry about #3. I’m glad that you have the trip to Maine coming up and I think you are totally right to put the new cancer aside until you return. Enjoy a lobster roll for me.
Like others, I’m sorry to read about your health concerns. Praying for peace of mind as you go through this once again. A trip to Maine sounds like the perfect diversion. Take care!
Sorry for the setback. But happy for the care you you take and the fact that you notice things. Enjoy Maine and use it as a temporary way to get away both physically and mentally.
Mary, I am sorry that you are facing another battle with cancer! Hopefully treatment will not cause so much fatique.
(My husband recently had a swallow test and had some therapy. He has exercises that he does using a tennis ball! )
Enjoy your trip.
We are in Maine now and the weather is perfect so glad you are headed this way.

I hope you have a great time in Maine! No one deserves a break more than you! Worry about other things when you get home.
Oh, my, Mary! I haven’t read you for a week or so, so this is my first news of your latest health concerns. I am so sorry to hear that, but I have to say, you are one of the most positive people that I “know”. I have been having issues of my own, which is why I haven’t been following you daily. You amaze me with how much you accomplish, even with your illnesses and appointments. I have done nothing creative for over a week. I hope you have (had?) a wonderful time in Maine, and wishing the best for you!
