Adopted

Two little boys were adopted today!

It was an amazing day for us all!! Keith and the boys will all 3 tell you that they’ve been father and sons for 37 years ….

Keith looked a little apprehensive back then doesn’t he but I guess he had good reason considering what he was taking on …

Today we went to court and he formally adopted the boys.

One big happy family … and the Judge!

You might wonder why it was done now, after all these years. Recently we updated our wills and the lawyer made it clear that if I died first that Keith’s next of kin would not be the boys. We decided that there was no question about them being his next of kin so we made the decision to legally ensure it.

  1. Very Cool…Congratulations to All of You. That had to be very emotional for everyone. Thank You for sharing with all of us.

  2. You never know what will happen with estate distribution. Family, insurance companies, and investment sources. Nightmares in finances that can occur even when you think you had planned everything. It took almost 5 months to find one of my sister’s insurance agents.

  3. That’s the best news ever. Congratulations! Gives you peace of mind. Great advice from lawyer. Celebrate!!

  7. Congratulations! My oldest niece and her husband just did the same thing with the granddaughter they raised – and for the same reason. The hearts all knew you all were next of kin, and now the courts do too.

  8. What a lovely story to read today. Keith must be feeling so proud to be officially recognised as the boys Father – your heart must be bursting with pride as well 🙂 🙂

  9. So now you can add a Gotcha Day to your family holidays! Friends of ours adopted a baby from China 20 years ago, and Gotcha Day is a big thing in adoption circles, so they tell me. Congrats to all!
