I had some time downstairs and couldn’t have timed this better if I’d tried. I started piecing my RWB Sharon Inspired HeartStrings blocks today – 12 done. I’ll continue to work on them on this Memorial Day weekend.

When it’s finished it will be donated to a Veteran in Maine in memory of Bev.
I know that not everyone likes the extra weight the muslin foundation adds but it is perfect for adding some extra warmth for quilts donated up there.
It’s also appropriate that this HeartStrings variation was inspired by quilts made and shared in Maine by Sharon at our sew-ins up there over the years. I tied many of those and was always inspired by how lovely they turn out. I’ve made several of them myself before this one and you can find brief instructions on my website at this link.
Thanks for the inspiration Sharon!
